I don’t really subscribe to the whole if civilization collaspes there will be no technology in anyone’s lifetime again thing. You aren’t going to go back to ordering shit off amazon from your smartphone or anything. However the knowledge that things like refrigeration, radio transmission, internal combustion engines, water treatment and such are possible is going to drive people to eventually find out how to get it by any means necessary.

How quickly this happens is a question of whether the majority of people adopt a “technology is too dangerous/a sin against God” idealogy or not.

I don’t really subscribe to Arch or Debian being better or worse than each other. I encounter issues just as frequently on both. Maybe it’s a little harder to do things in Debian because the repositories don’t update as often but the AUR is where a lot of important stuff is and that’s a pain to deal with too.

Either way it’s better than using Windows.

This guy deserves a lot more hate than he is currently getting. Yes, Trump is evil but that doesn’t mean Mike Johnson gets a free pass. When the Trump bubble bursts, he will become the new furher so get ready.

The only thing making this guy less scary than Trump is the fact he’s not running for president… For now.

Actually I got an nvidia card working on easy diffusion on Debian. The barrier for getting a text chat ai working with gpu acceleration is actually the fact that I don’t have the patience to deal with all that python venv nonsense so I use llamacpp. It runs in c++ which means no python dependencies to fuck you with at the cost of slower cpu-only generation.

Easy Diffusion just happens to be simple enough that I could actually figure out how to get it to work (it’s in python and needs a virtual environment) but it’s a different story for the text ais.

If you actually had the patience and knowledge to deal with all the python issues and/or had a distro that makes it easy (different distros deal with pip differently), I don’t doubt you’d be able to get Nvidia card acceleration working on some text chat ai.

It really sucks. But based on the system requirements new games keep needing, I’m not too hyped to play a port of an old game that needs modern drm and a rtx 6090ti. I still play og kotor 1 then 2 like once a year. The fan patch for kotor 2 makes it a lot better as they reimplemented a lot of the dialog that didn’t get used.

This. Seriously. Trump is really bad. A menace to society. But at least he is an idiot and will fuck up whatever he tries to do. Adolf Johnson and that DeSantis asshat are smart nazis and would be an absolute terror to society. If given actual power, they will do stuff far worse than anything Trump ever did. The problem is that more people hate Trump personally more than they hate the ideology he stands for and I fear this will cause the ultimate downfall of democracy.

In my 30s here. I can’t drink anymore. The hangovers are just too severe. I would rather be sober and deal with all the boringness that comes with it than get hungover. And that’s exactly what I’ve been doing.
