This may seem childish but I’ve had a crush on someone for a quite a long time (around a decade). I know I need to move on but been unsuccessful so far.

We haven’t seen each other for a while. He’s traveling to my city in a few weeks, and, due to some scheduling conflicts, he’s staying with me for a few days.

Thing is, I never know how to be around the dude. He’s already in a committed relationship with his boyfriend, which makes me kinda jealous TBH. Not sure how I’m gonna deal when he’s here physically in a few weeks.

Any advice on how to be around someone you never get over completely?

If you have had a “crush” on someone for a decade and have not been able to move on you need to cut them out forever. It’s unhealthy behavior and likely holding you back. Cut the cord, move on.

Why are you putting yourself in this awkward situation? It sounds like you are harbouring some hope that you will get into a relationship with him.

Accept that you probably will be embarrassed and awkward. Try to not push your feelings on him and don’t try to make awkward comments about it. Don’t try to loose yourself in what-ifs and don’t hope that anything will happen.

    You’ll probably be fine.

Oh and when he asks you why you are awkward or embarrassed, you can just be honest about it, but try to make it plain and not be dramatic about it.

I will just say this: crushes fucking suck. If I had a super power, I would like for it to be the ability to uncrush on someone.

I think the best way is to remove them from your life. You are probably well aware of this already.

But hey, it could be worse. Your crush could be straight.
