If you haven’t realized it by now, Lemmy is largely anti-Apple. Why people might expect a positive discussion about Apple outside of an Apple-oriented community, I know not.

I tried it out today! Works decently with most apps, but lags a bit with others. I’ve run into one app that doesn’t scroll vertically, but hopefully that is an easy fix on the developer’s part.
Dang it. I’m pretty sure my aunt is using an iPhone 8. Fingers crossed she upgrades this year!
I checked my group chat and noticed that it only shows SMS despite the whole Android-side of the group all showing RCS in their individual chats. Is this the intended implementation?
I’m guessing that the iPhones in the group also need to be upgraded to iOS 18 for it to work correctly.
Tooting the way you’d toot a horn/trumpet, or in this case an elephant trunk.
I can follow and see content from both accounts via the Ice Cubes app.
EDIT: I just realized you can’t see the posts in your timeline. I can only see as far as 2 days ago via my app, so unless you’re able to post an image more recent I can’t help out. Sorry!
I guess this ties into marketing, but I think rebranding the “fediverse” as the “social web” would be a good start. It has a broad neutral tone that I think is easier for regular people to latch on to.
I use it on occasion between Mastodon and Bluesky. My initial reaction was that I needed to organize my follows better so content wasn’t duplicating in the merged feed.
That’s a great point. Here’s the Mastodon donation link in case anyone was interested!
I think I could get behind an instance subscription, granted it wasn’t an obscene amount. I wonder what the upkeep on mastodon.social could be.
If you enjoy a little bit of history, you might enjoy Detectorists. It’s fairly short, but it’s a fun watch.
As a casual Star Wars fan, it was entertaining. The reluctant master-apprentice relationship was at times annoying, but I think that reinforced the issues happening with the relationships on screen.
You gotta speak to @Shadow about that avenue.
I’m impressed, but why?
While the original prop was adhered to Burton’s face using small filaments which ran behind the actor’s ears, Factory Entertainment’s metal replica will come with a display case and stand only — so if you want to wear it, it’s up to you to figure out how to make that work!
Instructions unclear, gluing rare-earth magnets to my temples.
So basically sign-in with Google?
The government could control social media on their own instance, sure.
I think having government accounts come from an official instance would garner more trust in the platform.
Tagging is definitely one of my favourite RES features. Would absolutely love to get this for Voyager.
Sorry, I thought I was replying in the technology community where this same post was made. Apple posts there are either harshly criticized or often downvoted.
