I think there will be some protests, some violence, but it will be much smaller than the protesters want it to be, and any violence will be swiftly met with law and order.
Jan 6 happened in part because Trump was in power. Election deniers in every state tried to gum up the works, and will try again. But Trump is not in power. He cannot exchange favors or offer pardons. People obstructing the democratic process will be arrested and prosecuted.
There was a movie about this last year. It was based on a true story, but strays a bit from what actually happened. It’s pretty good. It’s called Hitman.

Like Modi met with Putin, and the Indian staff members and security detail that came along were corralled into a bus and shipped to the front lines. Then Modi comes out of the meeting looking like the Vincent Vega meme, and turns to Putin who is like the Fidel Castro Simpsons meme.

Claims need proof when there is a call to action. It doesn’t matter to me if you’re from an island or a small town or a big city, unless you’re giving me directions. If you make an extraordinary claim, and you want me to believe you, then I’ll need proof. If you make a mundane claim, then what the fuck do I care if you’re lying? If you claim to have a disease, I’m going to believe you because I’m not a doctor and it costs me nothing to take you at your word.
If you shout “Run, something bad is coming!” I might feel foolish and angry if I later learn you were lying, but I’d rather be foolish and angry than injured or dead. Proof is a luxury when time is of the essence, doubly so when safety is at risk.
There might be some specific nuances to quibnle over, but generally I think we could reach consensus on the guidelines I described.
My hope is that, when the show comes on in a few weeks, they don’t even parody Trump. The actor who plays him reads his statements verbatim, because he’s so far beyond parody.
Let’s not pretend Trump isn’t exactly as racist as Just Don’t Vance.

Your sinuses may be inflamed, and relieving that pressure might provide temporary relief (like pressing on your forehead) but a hole in your skull wouldn’t fix the underlying sinus problem, and would likely result in worse infections and irritation.
Conservatives are exactly the same as they have always been. It’s just that conservatives define their priorities and their values and priorities around their identity, and that means their values and priorities shift with whatever is best for the conservative at the time. There are no universally conservative values, just the generic resistance to change things conservatives like. When a conservative benefits from a strong federal government, they support it. When a conservative benefits from abortion, they support it. When a conservative is a minority, or gay, or a woman, they support equalish rights for themselves. It’s narcissism wearing the cloak of stoic preservation of their “heritage,” and it’s always paper-thin.
This also means anyone opposing the conservative is not a member of the self, but a member of the other. The other is evil, because they are outside of the self. Anything the other does in opposition to the self is evil. An other could save a busload of nuns and kittens, and the conservative would complain about the traffic caused by the other. Anything the self does in support of the self is good. Lying, cheating, stealing, killing, raping, everything is on the table if it can be justified in support or defense of the self. From the outside of the self, it looks like hypocrisy, but it’s really not, because the conservative never truly holds an opinion. They just say what they need to say to win.
In other words, it’s absolutely mandatory in all situations except for all the time everywhere.
4 ten hour days can more easily become 4 eight hour days. Working 10 hours means more breaks, more downtime, more slack during each day, and people are going to need to leave work more often to handle personal matters. If you can get everyone on board with being half-staffed on Mondays and Fridays (assuming that not everyone works the same 4 days) then you can make the argument that the additional 2 hours a day are unnecessary.
That seems to be the main thrust of the interview. Employees leaving the building is bad for productivity, therefore I provide a variety of services, food, and support inside the building. Employees don’t have to ever leave, which boost productivity.
Whether or not that is true, that’s another matter. In fact, I would hazard a guess that the CEO’s statements are all “I want” statements precisely because he isn’t interested in debating the actual effect on employees. Is it more productive? Does the data support the expense? Doesn’t matter, he wants it.
I find it helps me be more creative to leave my working space for a change of scenery, but it also helps me focus on mundane tasks to have things at my fingertips to avoid leaving my workspace. I doubt there’s one universal answer, but a workplace that provides coffee and food isn’t preventing employees from leaving the building, it’s encouraging them to stay.
But I also work from home. I wouldn’t work for a company with a strict in-office policy, even if they provided coffee and daycare.
Look, I’m not saying that you’re lazy for not spending your nights and weekends at the library taking online learning courses, but you can answer your own question by answering another, “What’s stopping you now?” There are fewer barriers to education now than there ever have been. People who are curious learn. People who are driven accomplish. People who are both discover.
I expect it to be like every other season, some good and some not. It’s an edgy show that tries to explore weird concepts. I like that it is experimental, but that means sometimes the experiments don’t always succeed.
