Hope you like it! Now that I’ve talked about it I feel an itch for a double bill this weekend haha!
Wonderful thank you!!
The expressions of the humans really struck me as a kid, I could feel their terror (and anger) without really understanding the whole thing. Side-related but I’ve the 13thfloor tab opened for a few days and I haven’t explored it yet. Guess I should do that now :)
I love Altered States. And for some reason I always associate it with Dreamscape and I like watching them together.
Fantastic Planet is one of my all time favorite movies and I think it ages dreadfully well.
It’s so good. I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but I love how the story is told based on observations rather than exposition through dialogues. I don’t always need to relate to characters and their lives, sometime I just want to know about the weird gravity or atmosphere and stuff. For the longest time people said it could not be made into a movie, but Denis Villeneuve stepped up to the plate and I cannot wait to see what he does with it.
I listened to And Then She Vanished by Nick Jones and found it entertaining enough to start the second book in the series right after. It’s not really scifi, I mean, time travel could easily be tagged fantasy as well. I don’t know if I’ll finish the series though. It’s missing something that I can’t quite put my finger on. Somewhat shallow and the secondary characters are paper thin. Fine reading to pass the time (or spend 12 hours on a train…) but nothing I’ll be thinking about once I’m done. I’ve been struggling to get through the first few chapters of Perdido Street Station for a while, I may give it another go this weekend.
Absolutely love the book and read it a few times already. It’s fast paced and engaging. I enjoy the sciency parts as much as the relationship building between the two characters. It has a very straightforward narrative and does not try to be more than it is. It’s nothing deep, but straight up good entertainment. I went in expecting as much so I was not disappointed.
That’s fucking terrifying!
I use https://www.themoviedb.org/ quite often, it’s pretty good.
Or big wokeness
Right? All I was thinking watching it was, I don’t want it to end, I want 12 hours more!
And John Mahoney’s no longer with us. Over all there is nothing of note, nothing exciting in this reboot. Hard pass for me as well.
I do the same! And you know, I think this is a hobby by itself. It’s also very useful when talking with strangers if they tell you they practice one of the hobbies you’ve binged on. You can ask them more pointed, interesting questions and it makes for great conversations!
My first thought reading the question “blood in the streets”. Coffee has been around for hundreds of years and is deeply cultural in many parts of the world. I don’t see any reality where that could happen.
Seriously, “Jewish erasure”? Come the fuck on.
Oh I see. I’m sorry, you guys in medical really have it fucking hard. Hang in there, and best of luck!
That sounds very satisfying, wow! I swear to god, half the meetings I attend are just soooo unproductive. Talk about this project, where we were, where we are, where we are going. But it always ends up that I have to jog people’s memory, ask why what was supposed to get done didn’t and when it will be. Rinse and repeat. I love that approach, makes people accountable and saves everyone’s time.
That’s a big one. Also lack of hobbies or passions.
Lolll so great, glad you had fun :) Corba-Man was nightmare fuel for a while when I was a kid. DPK’s face was already seared into my brain from The Warriors, I was so afraid of him!
