sometimes really, really, REALLY stupid puzzles
oh god, the wrench in the subway rail
I love stux, I have a Mastodon account on one of his instances, and I donate every now and then. he’s a good human being, and his cats are supreme.
that being said, I feel like sometimes he’s a bit ADHD with his side projects, so he creates one, and then just lets it fizzle out over time while he starts two new ones. goldfish.social was one of them, and it looks like the domain has expired and got bought out by someone else. perhaps it’s his way of learning new stuff, or preventing himself on getting burned out or something - whichever it is, I’m not judging, he’s never making promises that they’re long term commitments anyway. his Masto instances have been solid, on the other hand.
so, no summary at all, or one that does shit job pointing out important bits or gets them wrong and therefore isn’t a proper summary? choices, choices.
It’s not terrible
it sucks at summarising information, though https://www.crikey.com.au/2024/09/03/ai-worse-summarising-information-humans-government-trial/

Bluesky is FOSS
pretty sure it isn’t.
and I’m saying that as a firm Mastodon user and believer.

yes I have. it’s just not my thing, thank you very much.
Podcasts are a last bastion of mainstream web freedom.
yes, I’m well aware of that, but it still doesn’t change the fact that I just don’t listen to them - especially when an episode is an hour long.
oh neat, we mainstream now
not related because I don’t listen to hour long podcast episodes, but I’ve been thinking for ages how someone like MKBHD hosting their own Mastodon instance could really solidify the Fediverse’s presence. I bet a big chunk of his audience would be willing to spend a dollar in order to get an @mkbhd.com or @matteblack.com or @24fps.com or whatever handle, too.
careful, you’re about to get whatabouted to death
could’ve just read the first two paragraphs.
if you fill in your Matrix handle in your profile settings and so does the person who wants to contact you, the private messages between the two of you will use Matrix.
looks like the code is still being worked on on Forgejo, but apart from that there doesn’t seem to be any presence established. looks like Iceshrimp is a fork of it: https://iceshrimp.dev/iceshrimp/iceshrimp.net

latest release on June 1st.
it must’ve been… 20 years? since I’ve played it, and I still remember it. I also remember that the solution was in the guide that came with the game, and it actually acknowledged that it was one of the most convoluted puzzles in the game.
