I’d think no. This is barring someone from using an app entirely. But when it comes to dating, everyone has a preference of gender, even if that preference is “no preference”.

And dating isn’t discrimination. It’s picking a person that you want to spend extra, and frequently intimate, time with. It’s a billion subconscious factors that your brain interprets as love, affection, or whatever other emotion your brain wants. Can some of those factors be discriminatory? Sure.

I like men and women and everything in-between and around, and I’m sure I have plenty of biases and discriminations of my own, but that’s not enough to outright call all dating discrimination

There were enough attractive strangers that it damn near turned into a reddit mod orgy (which is probably why I haven’t heard of another mod meet up with unlimited booze)

Once you’re at this level, you’re looking to get improvements of a fraction of a percentage. I don’t know the specifics cause I’m not a pro shooter despite being American, but from other high level skill people I know, you hit a point where improvements basically plateau and you have to resort to increasingly niche products to obtain non skill improvements. If you want proof of that, check out calligraphy and fountain pen communities. The amount of money some people spend on things I didn’t know existed is wild.

The best example right now is Factorio. There’s a new expansion coming out in October. It isn’t free, but it adds basically an entire new game on top of an already excellent and fully fleshed out game. I’m gonna buy it the day it goes on sale without question and without waiting for reviews.

Then there’s crap like Starfield where they added 1 mission for $7.

You can still run Fallout 1 and 2 on modern hardware. Maybe not the original disks, but a remake wouldn’t fix that anyways.

A remake would involve redoing nearly everything in the base game in a new engine. You’re likely thinking of a remaster, which brings it up to modern hardware without rebuilding the whole thing.

Man, I hadn’t heard that rant in years.

And yeah, I remember a lot of people both cheering and hating on EGS when it was first announced. A lot of people were saying it would be as bad as uplay and whatever ea calls their launcher now (it wasn’t), or that devs would get screwed by the platform (they didn’t).

I also remember a lot of people saying it would be a “steam killer”. It wasn’t, but even without direct evidence I feel comfortable saying it was a major factor in steam finally making their launcher halfway decent. It still has a ways to go and I still think EGS does some things better (why TF would I ever want to launch directly to the store, valve? Just show me my fucking games)
