I play the Warhammer series, so I can’t speak much to Pharoh (their newest game release). The apology actually covers a lot of what the drama is about. Higher priced DLCs with okay content, old bugs from the previous installments unfixed, terrible communication with the player base.

I like the apology. It’s specific and they are putting their money where their mouth is. As long as they follow up, I think they can recoup a lot of goodwill. I’m hopeful because I love what they’ve done with the warhammer series and I want them to support it for years to come. It’s great right now and it has incredible potential.

I mean, this is literally my strategy. I’m okay not buying games from companies who utilize revenue tactics I don’t agree with. Some will adopt in game ads and a lot won’t. I’m pretty confident in my stable of devs that probably won’t have to drop them. And if I’m wrong? Oh well. They don’t get my money.

You good. People complaining about business practices of a company who has become known for those exact business practices are wild. II personally just stopped buying from them because they’ve shown they no longer want me as a customer. I do feel like people like those in the article might do better to just stop buying from them. There are so many fucking great devs and games out there from indie to AAA, why would I continue to support a company who I feel is being unfair to their customer base.

Why can’t it be both? These statements aren’t meant for us anyway.

Most of the chatter against it that I hear now is “parents pushing their kids to be trans” which, yes, that would be shitty but that simply isn’t the case. I live in a very trans friendly area of the US. A lot of parents have degendered clothes and toys so it’s pretty common to see male children in dresses and/or playing with dolls and female children with short hair and “boy” clothes (sorry I’m having a hard time coming up with an outfit that is quintessential boy). Do you know what the outcome is? Kids wearing clothes they like and playing with toys they like. They’re excited about the things they like because they have supportive adults in their life and they’re not forced to follow arbitrary societal rules.

Male children playing with dolls doesn’t mean they’re automatically trans. Parents aren’t having super intensive talks about gender reassignment when their female child is playing with trucks or is “more sporty” than other girls. Gender is simply talked about more fluidly and kids are supported in their constantly changing interests.

Wait for a sale if price is an issue. From my perspective CS:2 looks like CS:1 with a bunch of mods and substantial DLC baked right in.

I don’t mind supporting this company because they show time and time again that they love the game and the community.

Wow, you and the commenter above really sold me on it. That’s the way the internet was meant to be used. You go and search for shit. Not shit getting fed to you because “it totally matches up with other things you like”. I’ve hated these algorithms for so long. And for me personally completely misses the mark on what actually excites me. Instead it intentionally shows me bullshit that I will scroll through for hours or plaster my face in front of the second I have exactly 30 seconds of free time in my day. It’s fucking junk food.

I’ll give black mirror another go. I was high the first time and the 1st episode was freaking me out too much so I had to stop in the middle of the episode.
