And yet, us ahem “Blue Maga” are also the ones who fight for abortion rights. We want justice, not just equality. We hate wars, and dislike people who lie selfishly for gain at the expense of others. We also recognize that not everything can be fixed by anger and good intentions, that there will be setbacks and total failures. Many of us also still have hope and will fight for the rights of even those who view us somehow as their enemy. This is why you see so much less anger directed at you or even at actual MAGA supporters.

We’re angry that they’ve allowed themselves to get duped so badly. We’re angry that malicious and evil idealism has even managed to take hold. We’re angry at the generations who sat on their hands. We’re angry, just a little, at one another for never coming to agreements. While you’re busy hyperventilating, take a moment between gasps to consider your position. Why did we go to Iraq? Who continued pushing for wars? Who benefits the most? Which party fights so hard to stop Veteran care?

Be angry, just make sure to point it at the correct people.

Oh yes absolutely, I agree that environmental factors play a role, and that role varies in intensity and direction. Looking at what limited historical evidence I know offhand it appears that the female form has been more consistently sought after. Of course, this could be due to the fact that my historical context are the Romans, Greek, parts of indo-asia, and a sprinkling of Japan. So a rather wide swath of places like South America and Africa aren’t really known.

I don’t have enough knowledge. It just seems from what I do know that there is some significant focus on this, or maybe just less focus on males in general.

This is interesting. Bear with me, it’s 2am, I’m overtired, and this is purely for discussion. Also, this caught the attention of my adhd, so if I try to ignore it I probably won’t sleep at all. Anyway, I wonder if it has some basis on how sexuality is represented in the brain in gay men vs gay women. I’m reasoning this because, well…

1. Lesbians: Like the boobas and butts of other women. According to reports women also tend to swing more loosely with their sexuality.

2. Straight Women: Even women who identify as straight can be attracted to other women sexually, just not intimately. They like to also look.

3. Gay Men: From my experience in life, on Reddit, and here on Lemmy, gay men tend to lack similar appreciation for women. Predictably they find other men to be all the rage. There seems to be a more stringent sexual and intimate preference.

4. Straight Men: Yet while straight men like the ladies, we also now know a larger population of males tend toward bisexual curiosity. We are also aware of the sexual repression still prevalent, though arguably less so than ever before.

So what am I getting to? Well, I believe that either gender has a genetic disposition towards the feminine form. On the same tree, both genders tend to enjoy the male form on the same level less. Could this be linked to some ancient survival mechanism a la reproduction? Why does it appear that the woman body is more popular with three of the four major categories and yet to gay men more often completely unremarkable?

I dunno, my brain is yelling at me to sleep. Could anyone add anything? I’m mostly curious and promise I’m not attempting to head in some unknown terrible conclusion someone is bound to try and rope it all into.

You can tell I’ve had some interesting responses from people on some subjects.

It’s politics. You could have some shoplifting charge from 40 years ago and people will yell about how you’re the worst and attempt to invalid everything you do because of it.

Not sure why heavily leaning to one side or another is so popular nowadays.

Anyway, I don’t know how individual companies do what. I don’t work for them. I don’t have insider knowledge. I do know how companies are typically structured and the traps nearly every company experiences as they grow, both in revenue and often consequently in manpower.

I’m not going to dive into it. This is a pretty easy topic to find on many search engines and Youtube where they’ll probably go more in-depth than I can with a limited attention span and two thumbs.

The high base level costs aren’t due purely to development, I’d wager. How many admin staff, redundant management, petty meetings, and exorbitant costs go to overhead that could be solved with a 20 minute meeting and less triple expressos for the executive team?

Moreover, chances are we could find several issues with the flow of work around the development of the game itself. Poorly optimized communication, for the win.

Games that are p2w exist in a symbiotic relationship with people who are willing to spend copious amounts of money. The people who don’t spend money and still exist within these games help fill in the environment. ALL players of these games are the problem.

Mobile games are the most common example of this, though other games fall under similar banners. The truth is any free game with live service needs money to operate. Hell, even that fan-run DBZ MMO has costs associated with it that the community helps fund. This won’t go away, it’ll just disguise itself as something else.

I do believe, however, that for larger games the bloated cost of development needs to fuck right off. 100mil and 5 years or more? There is a logistical issue there that needs to be addressed. One of many, I’m afraid.

With some exceptions the answer is likely very simple:

They aren’t denying climate change because they believe it isn’t happening, that doesn’t matter. They’re denying it because they:

1. Are among others who claim they deny and so they conform or become outcasts
2. Dislike and fear change they don’t understand on a fundamental level
3. Fear challenging those beliefs because doing so risks admitting a regular part of their life has been lived in the wrong

Eventually these three things combine until denial becomes their natural state.

Part of me wonders if the gunshot helps whether it would be worth the trouble to carry an air horn.

Thank you for a level response. In the U.S. especially there are fear and anger knees jerks to some situations where a calm response is an absolute necessity. As always, there is more nuance than there appears.

It’s a cultural node, social norm, expectation blah blah. What it comes down to is perception. We all belong to different groups. Many of these groups overlap. Sometimes we have niche interests that don’t quite align with the others. As you draw circles intersecting circles and push people into these groups, the further a circle is from another, the more likely there will be a form of conflict.

This perception is linked to expectation through a lack of understanding. In some cases all of this is caused by fear, which is hidden behind anger. Ignorance creates this diversity of opinion and as those circles, or nodes in sociology, grow, the reinforcement of an idea grows with it. Adjacent nodes receive some of this growth until eventually something happens and a new node is formed creating a niche platform.

Some comparisons below:

A mechanic may not like computers. A computer person may like cars. A car person may not be a mechanic. A person who drives a car may not be either a car person, computer person, or mechanic. Yet a person who likes to play video games on a PC may not be a computer person and still likes playing games about cars. While a car person might still enjoy anime despite that being perceived more as on the computer side of culture.

See how all of these find a way to interlap? The “weirdness” shows up when groups are formed that fall outside of these interactions, and yes, entire connected groups can then become niche and isolated. A certain National Socialist German Workers’ Party is a fantastic and horrible example of how perceptions can shift and niche opinions grow, pulling adjacent groups with them, and eventually splitting, often done by linking distant, loosely linked threads and yanking them to form a strangled web of bullshit.

Long story short: Licensing the songs.
