Regardless of who owns the IP, it will open the flood gates of any company suing another for even just taking inspiration from one of their IPs.

If Trump wins there will likely be a civil war too. People won’t stand to see innocent people hurt by draconian laws and attitudes around abortion, existing as a queer person, and racism.

While the designs were clearly inspired by Pokemon, I don’t think Nintendo has any leg to stand on in this case. The connection is flimsy at best., but I’m not a lawyer so I dunno, maybe there’s some legal loophole that Nintendo is banking on.

If this case goes in Nintendo’s favour, it could open the door for other lawsuits like Stardew Valley could get sued for infringing on Nintendo’s Harvest Moon IP, for example. I know that’s ludicrous but who knows, the law goes in unexpected directions sometimes.

If you’re not part of the group, then don’t use it. I’d say maybe the only exception is “queer”. I’m fine with people using queer to describe their friends and family who are queer. Not everyone is OK with it though, but it’s pretty common. With queer, don’t use it unless the person you’re talking to self identifies as queer.

It was a disc and the trees were able to be interacted with face to face so I think those are inexplicable except for “they’re magic”.

Elves in LOTR have technically infinite vision because the world used to be flat and illuminated by two glowing trees that resided in Valinor. Because the world was flat, and Elves have essentially perfect vision at any distance, they could actually see things that were on the opposite side of the world.

After Morgoth (aka Melkor, aka the evil god that Sauron worships) and Ungoliant (the mother of Shelob, the spider that nearly kills Frodo) destroyed the trees then the world was made into a globe and Elves infinite vision ability, while still useful, wasn’t quite as powerful as before.

While you’re at it, switch over to DD/MM/YYYY for the date format. The only 2 configurations that make sense is that or YYYY/MM/DD. Either go general to specific or specific to general, MM/DD/YYYY makes no sense.

Why would they be hostile to that idea? It allows you to run the VPN only on your browser instead of your entire system which is sometimes preferable.

It’s quite good and also I like that they largely support Linux. They have phone apps, browser extensions, desktop apps, and even CLIs. They also have downloadable configurations for OpenVPN and WireGuard if you want to go that route. They’ve also got what I assume are fairly basic features of most VPNs like kill switching, private DNS servers, etc.

I actually just learned this recently, but dinosaurs differ from reptiles in that dinosaurs have legs that are under their bodies whereas reptiles have legs that splay out to the side. So all mammals, and birds, with legs directly under their bodies are probably more closely related to dinosaurs then reptiles.

I think that’s basically the same thing as Tampermonkey. There’s also GreasyFork which hosts custom scripts.

If my partner calls me cute, yes, I like that. Anyone else, it’s very context specific. Do I know you and like you and trust you and your opinions? Then probably yes, otherwise pretty much always no.

Yeah I figured it maybe also had something to do with the distribution of matter throughout the universe. We assumed when we made predictions of the distant past that the supermassive black holes at the center of galaxies were the same mass as they are today, but if they were less massive then it might help explain why black holes didn’t gather as much material into it’s orbit as we would have thought.

I think you’re right though that it has more to do with the negative pressure that space and the black holes seem to exert although I must admit I don’t really understand what that means or how you would get a negative pressure from a black hole or from space.
