I’ve lived for 33 years, 12 or so if those years heavily featuring K’nex and only after reading your comment realised that K’nex is a phonetic play on “connects”.

The point of that meme as I took it is to illustrate the uncertainty women face when it comes to the intentions of (strange) men. The bear, an actual killer, at least is predictable. Not a criticism of your hot take btw, just sharing my thoughts on this meme.
I don’t remember a friends episode about this either. I do remember it being on how I met your mother though so possibly the person you’re replying to was thinking of that.
Seasons 4 and 7 are available in your country!
Last I played (couple weeks ago) insurance didn’t cost anything. At some point it’ll cost in game credits but right now there’s no insurance premium. You can spend some credits to expidite the return timer if you can spare it.
What? The point of star citizen is exactly that kind of emerging gameplay. I can almost guarantee the person whose spaceyacht was stolen had fun here too. Nothing was lost, the ships are insured and you can just call them back a short while after they’re destroyed.
Yes, or someone did show up despite knowing the risks because they trusted Hawking to understand the dangers of revealing the secret of time travel and not sharing it with any living soul. If time travel were to ever become possible and somewhat commonplace then the chances are probably close to zero that everybody chooses not to attend this party (assuming the invitation remains famous for long enough). Perhaps the party was crowded with people thinking the same way.
It’s much more likely that it all just played out exactly the way Hawking said it did, of course. But it’s a fun thought experiment to play around with.
I’m fairly certain she didn’t lose the ability to laugh. I don’t think that’s entirely possible. Either you weren’t as funny as you think or she was awkward and nervous and that suppressed her real laughter. Or, hang on, there’s a third option which is she’s rotted her brain by being terminally online to the point where real experiences lose their meaning. Actually now that I think about it, that’s probably what you’re getting at here.
Fuck, wait a minute, am I losing my touch with reality and human connections?
It’s a pot of gold. Obviously there’s a leprechaun involved who will be presenting the riddle.
Is it really that confusing? If it had said there was a pot of gold the implication is clear that the person who reaches it will be rich. You ask “why a nude woman?” and the answer is simply because, just like being rich, desiring a sexual partner is a common desire.
Kids these days fr going “the olds these days” unironically 💀
My biggest takeaway from the article is that he’s 75. Holy shit, I would’ve guessed 86.
I’d feel bad for the many people that will be economically trapped there. I can imagine even in that scenario that people will stay put simply because they can’t afford to up and move to a different state. The alternative would be to live in their car with their whole family in a neighbouring state, I assume.
Imagine the housing crisis when 50% of texans try to find a home in nearby states. And I’m being very conservative with that percentage, as I can’t imagine half of the population of texas would even support secession and would want to stay in their doomed state.
and less enjoyable to walk.
Which, incidentally, is great for car manufacturers!
If the place is packed it still wouldn’t change anything for the business. It’s not like OP’s spot at the table would be occupied by a random patron, it’d be an empty chair at the table that OP’s friends are sitting at. But yeah I can’t imagine being that frugal and still going to bars. I would either invite everybody to go some place free (the park when it’s nice out, my place if it’s close enough) or indeed just buy a drink every now and then.
I lost some respect for jables here, the way he’s seemingly throwing Kage under the bus… But at the same time I can recognise that JB has always tried to keep up a positive persona. Not apolitical but he’s never been the type to promote violence directed at specific people. Kyle did him kinda dirty by doing something to potentially harm that (assuming he was truthful when he said he was blindsided by it, and not just saying that after it blew up in the news).
Not saying Kyle is wrong and Jack is right here, though. I’ve always felt a little bad for Kyle that Jack put tenacious D and therefore Kyle on the sidelines when his Hollywood career took off. Kyle was rightfully quite jaded about that and I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s led him to doing this without considering the possible consequences for Jack.
The whole thing sucks for both of them, I guess.
