I’m curious to see how my boy Sanderson handles a book series that is almost entirely politics. Not to say I haven’t seen Sanderson have politics, Stormlight Archives probably the most political of his many books, but its still not even close to the intensely political nature of ASOIAF.
We all know Sanderson would hit a home run though.
I was once told that it isn’t about making your mind blank, it’s about acknowledging the thought that rolls into your mind, and then letting it go. The idea being to train yourself to let trains of thought go. When I’m being a huge dick to myself with my inner monologue I can sometimes remember “oh yeah! I can just not think about this” and then I’ll let my mind go elsewhere.
Never considered the who would support you in advanced age argument. But I live in the US and any children I have would end up as probably the poorest generation to ever exist in this country, so not them I suppose.

The post isn’t a matter of opinion. He didn’t ask whether his view is correct or true, he asked what its academic name was. He is seeking a specific answer. You’re the one injecting opinion into a conversation that didn’t ask for any.
If I asked what the name of the god of the Hindu religion was, it wouldn’t be an open invitation to begin debating the merits of said religion. And even if u decided that it was, it sure as hell isn’t were you get asked a simple question like “are u advocating for ignorant bliss”, and then say “well this whole post is a matter of opinion” which is both complete bullshit as I’ve now shown, and also a cowards move, because you are pivoting the conversation as a means to not answer a simple question since you can tell you’ve lost the argument.
You might consider reflecting on your own viewpoints, because if they cant stand up to simple questions about their own merits, then maybe you should get a new viewpoint, or at a minimum you stop spreading them on the internet to people who didn’t ask.
Your adding the baseless implication that there is something wrong in their life. I’m not a 10 year old being murdered by Israels missles, or a Ukrainian forced to go to war, or a toddler dying of leukemia, but those things exist in this world. Whether they affect me or not they exist, hence ur making the assumption this is a complaint on their own life.

I started small, I’d just make better decisions here and there, choose the healthier of two options, not eating the chips. Then I would make more healthier decisions, I should go on a walk, I’m gonna lift some weights. What ends up happening is once you get used to the easier decisions I would feel like I could/should be doing more. Eventually I’m dieting and exercising regularly and didn’t even make any hard choices, just easy and small incremental choices.

I think we disagree on one specific point, I believe weak leadership is a guarantee when massive institutions can no longer grow and instead seek to cheat growth through political action. The vote of the people is meaningless when compared to so much capital. I believe it to be inevitable. Sure strong leadership could prevent this, ,but we elect leadership and are easily manipulated.
Except it is capitalisms fault. If the capitalist must make more money each year than it did the year before, eventually the only way to make that happen is by influencing elections to get bills passed that bring up the ladder behind you solidifying your monopoly, or by deregulating the market so you can produce more with less.
Great analogy, but I cant fully agree. It seems to me that capitalism will almost always act the same way, it will always seek out every manipulation and loophole possible to get money into politics and then its good game. The people will never be able to stay as informed and hardworking at voting for right people and policies, as private money will be at buying the worst candidates and policies. Greed is essentially baked into capitalism.
…Then again what system wont be broken by the worst parts of humanity given enough time. I feel like the constitution should have been more robust, set out ethical guidelines for the country, it would make it so much harder to be a piece of shit and claim you love America at the same time. Especially as I see nationalism as the final nail in our coffin.
