Yeah, I’d be checking the smart stats on my drives and doing a full data backup if I didn’t already have one.

It works just fine on my laptop - Intel, openSUSE
It mostly works fine on my desktop - Nvidia, endeavourOS
Since the explicit sync fixes, the only problems I have are janky scrolling in Firefox / Librewolf and a couple of bugs with panels. They are annoying enough that I use X11 on the desktop.
I have now. It looks quite interesting too. I’m still trying to convince myself that out of date Nvidia drivers are a reason to move, guess I’ll see if we get the 560 drivers.
Maybe I was lucky but I didn’t experience many bugs with Plasma 6. One or two minor ones that were fixed quickly.
What I like about it is that Plasma with Wayland is now mostly bearable with an Nvidia card. It just needs Tumbleweed to update the Nvidia drivers and I think it will there. To the point I am considering trying EndeavourOS which I’m sure already has the latest drivers.
I’ll add that Kubuntu is still on Plasma 5.27 and you’ll have to wait until 24.10 to get the Plasma 6 goodness.
I’ll also add that everyone forgets openSUSE Tumbleweed as an alternative.
I console myself that I am getting older and won’t see the worst of it.
and a lot more screaming!
Squeaky voices
I dunno, it would be pretty funny if I tried weight-lifting
Does it happen with a new user?
Try deleting or renaming ~/.cache/icon-cache.kcache
Yeah, smoking is bad for you in so many ways but nicotine is also addictive!
Is tobacco poisonous to blow smoke up one’s ass or in general?
Nicotine is a poison in general and given that suppositories are a very effective way of delivering medication, I imagine that having smoke blown up your arse was pretty nasty.
Yeah but it rolls. I don’t use it but I would guess they’re waiting for 6.1 before updating.
If you want to be more up to date, switch to the unstable branch which mirrors the Arch repositories. It will also solve one of the biggest problems with Manjaro, the potential imcompatibility with the AUR.
But they don’t have to roll on the bleeding edge. Look at openSUSE Slowroll for an example of a distro that rolls behind the curve.
First of all, Manjaro is still on 5.27??? How is that a “rolling release” distro?
Rolling release doesn’t necessarily mean bang up to date although in practice most rolling release distros are.
Yes. I trust KDE to not misuse my data
While that’s encouraging, I would still make a full backup of my data and have a plan to replace the drive while I investigated further.
