I still play Old School RuneScape and Guild Wars 2, and they are both very active.
However, I’ve not tried a new MMORPG in ages. I don’t even really know if any relatively new ones could be interesting to try out.

I’ve been using it for about a week, both at work and at home, and I must say that it is great. It is nearly everything that I wanted from a browser. Especially since it is based on Firefox.
I’ve been so happy with it, that I even donated to the project.
Personally, I tried it a wee bit, but the game kept stressing me so much, which I really hate. It’s a shame because I keep hearing that it’s an incredible game… Maybe if I try it at another time I’ll have a different experience, I hope.
You clearly do not know how things work in France. We have tons of things fiscally in place that make it so that in practice, you have to earn much more than that to truly pay taxes.
I don’t have time currenty to enumerate all of that, but I’ll come back to you later if I don’t forget.
Most young people do not pay income taxes currently, only the wealthy ones. So this reduction would only apply to already rich people.
Meh, if your house is built correctly, it is not needed. And you also get used to it.
I just use a fan during the night, which does the job without having to use so much electricity.
I’ve never had AC at home, and that’s also the case for most people I know. I live in the south of France.
Never ate any, and I don’t know of any restaurant close by that prepares them.
The instance works really well :)
During rush hour, it will definitely have an impact on the flow of traffic with most roundabouts, which are usually not very big (in France anyway).
You don’t x)
More seriously, in these cases, I often rely on emails instead. But I don’t really use group chats a lot (even with my contacts that are on Signal), nor send many files, so it’s not features I really miss. And SMS works with everyone, so it’s always my default if the contact isn’t on Signal.
Any reasons why you do not consider Mull, or even simply Firefox on android ? Mull works really well for me and can really be seen as the Librewolf equivalent for Android.
I think that I fully understand how you feel. It’s pretty much why I stopped playing online games. I want to be able to not think about being good or absolutly winning every single game. Most of the time, I would rather prefer trying out “dumb” stuff in the game or simply having random conversations while having fun.
I really miss these days where games were more than just the game itself.
I also feel that newer games only focus on the competitive aspect.
Poorly advertised is an understatement, I never heard about this within Reddit xD I always thought that it was a third-party thing.
It is indeed similar to the “Local” feed from Lemmy then. However, it doesn’t have the “I’m part of a common family” feeling that I see in an instance like jlai.lu where we know that all users from the instance see the same content.
But TIL, thank you :)
I agree, I feel like most of the “feed” issues are simply because users are in big instances where the “Local” feed indeed becomes meaningless.
Something that would however be cool would be a way to view the Local feed from another instance, without having to actually go to the other instance.
To me, the Local feed is one of the biggest strengths of Lemmy. It allows having in the same platform a community/instance based feed (for example, Local in jlai.lu allows you to find most of the French activity in Lemmy), and at the same time, I can use “Subscribed” and/or “All” feeds to get a broader view of the Fediverse.
Without the “Local” view, Lemmy would just feel like another Reddit clone to me, where French communities would just be flooded by English-speaking communities. On Reddit, the French community actually had to create a subreddit dedicated to listing all French subreddits, just because the discoverability of non-English-speaking subreddits is just awful by default on Reddit.
And at the same time, I don’t see the need for “curation algorithms”. The “Subscribed” feed already fills this use case for me.
You can force a video to appear in Lemmy by copying the original peertube URL of the video into lemmy’s search. It will take 2-3 seconds to import it and show up in the search results.
I think what you see on the main page (at the bottom right, just below the instance description/rules) is the instance’s specific stats.
