Oh, rabbits!
Oh, rabbits!
Well, if you’re looking for absolute perfection in a ST theme, good luck. It’s not like Mike Post or John Williams were writing these suckers.
That said, I thought Alexander Courage did a hell of a job on the original.
I find it ever-so-slightly pompous with all the horns, but otherwise, a cool remix of the original theme.
Seems kind of weirdly unnecessary to start with “Lemmy” instead of just going with TMBG, but whatevs. Subscribed to John & John.
Roddenberry from what I’ve read in multiple places sounded like a huge asshole to me, and nowhere near the ‘Great Bird of the Galaxy’ he liked to self-label himself as. Now yes, a very talented asshole, whose vision started the franchise, and certainly who put in much work on TOS (along with many other talents), but nevertheless a real PITA on a personal level who wound up burning most of his bridges.
Point is-- if Meyer lost his cool with him as a young guy, I wouldn’t be very surprised.
Umm… whoah
And… what symmetry would THAT be, dude?
It’s been a long, loooong time since I’ve uttered these words, but: THAT ABSOLUTELY KICKS ASS. (or Romulan pastrami, whatever)
Now, there’s always going to be a quibble, so here’s mine: Leonard Nimoy was about 6’ in actual height, and I believe Jon Frakes is about 6’3" - 6’4," right around Michael Dorn’s height, for example.
Still-- I get it. If the artist is trying to suggest the outsized influence of Spock, I understand. I mean, Shatner was utterly magnificent in his role, but Nimoy was also right there with him, a brilliant, iconic presence that helped turn TOS in to what might have otherwise been “Lost in Space.”
if it’s once a year. If we did it every night…
Around here (MidWest city), fireworks go off every night for a month before, and then a month after the fourth. And I don’t mean a small amount, either. More like some version of the Vietnam War. It’s nuts.
Basically, most of summer is devoted to fireworks play, with the fourth being a deluxe version of the “fun.”
Oy, now I understand why I wasn’t seeing your latest content!
Hmm, I haven’t hyperventilated in a long time.
I… am both dumbfounded and grateful that you appreciate our community, Rolando. <3
Good stuff; thanks for sharing.
The contrast between Curtis’ outgoing personality versus the character she played reminded me a bit of Jeremy Brett playing Sherlock Holmes. I would think one’s native personality would peek through the stoniness of the role from time to time, regardless.
You’re a big help.
World collapses and all maps of New Zealand are destroyed.
That made perfect sense to me for a moment because I’ve read several times now that NZ seems to be the preferred location for global billionaires to build their ultimate survival bunkers when collapse happens.
Plus, I imagine they’d want people topside to hang on there reasonably well for several reasons, such as a labor pool, genetics pool, testing pool, and possibly to grow some food on the surface.
I paid around US$700-800 for a nice Neumann mic that I’d researched pretty well, but like a dumbass didn’t realise that it required power, meaning I couldn’t just hook in to my amp like your basic Shure.
So later on as a solution, I got myself a Focusrite powered amp-interface that has a bonus of being able to route guitar and mic input in to USB. Spent hours trying to get everything working and kept running in to problems. IIRC the USB signal was barely received by my computer, and the only way the amp received a signal is if the computer was powering the thing, which shouldn’t have been a requirement as it already had power.
I just went back to my Shure while that fancy stuff gathers dust. Similar thing with my Ableton.
What would be some commonly unused features?
Thank you for these thoughts & interesting perspective. :-)
Maybe your experience was like mine in class. It just wasn’t the right format for me, and I needed to find a different way to unlock the door.
Thanks for explaining. So I guess that kind of thing is an artifact of the language being originally designed… what, ~100yrs ago? Still, since the main point is ease of learning and simplicity, maybe this is just something worth putting up with for the time being, no?
Thanks, Blaze.
Appreciate. ^^
