My mortality! Hit 45 this year and it kinda feels like it’s all downhill from here.
Health is ok but that seems tenuous as I’m pretty out of shape so I feel like I’m not “set up” yet to be a healthy older person. When something does go wrong I’m not sure if I should worry about getting it treated or just live with it.
It seems futile to learn new skills and such since I’m not sure about the payoff (ROI).
Family/kids/job/money are all pretty great so I don’t have anything to complain about, but I’m still kind of feeling like I’m about to crest the hill of life and want to ensure I’m making the best of it and prepared for my eventual demise.
I don’t want to die! I really like being alive and kind of wish I had immortality (with a safety kill switch of course so I don’t have to endure the heat-death of the universe or get stuck inside a star somewhere lol)
I know this is meant to sound like the expansion is fast, but it is in fact really, REALLY slow.
In rural Wyoming and Utah, the interstate highway speed limit is 80mph, which is around 130 km/h. Most people regularly do 85, if not 95 mph (145 km/h).
This – in Denver on I-25, the speed limit is 55 mph, but if you stay below that you’re taking your life into your hands because everyone will be whipping by you at least 10 (and often 20) mph faster. Honestly, speed up a bit and it feels safer because there isn’t such a speed differential between you and everyone else.
When working on an office, it’s great and all that you have “the power of accurate observation” but god our Debbie downer is insufferable.
Just think of your computer or server as a huge building with thousands of doors. Most are closed, but you purposely open a few to allow traffic in and/or out of. Those that are open are only open for a specific purpose and will only lead in or out of a specific place in the building.
This is opposite of what OP is asking. If you claim zero exemptions then your employer will pull the most out of your check, giving you a bigger refund come tax time and smaller net paychecks.
OP wants to do the opposite by having their employer pull no tax withholdings (deductions) from their check.
Yeah you can just say zero. I used to do that back when I was young and didn’t earn enough to owe taxes.
The worksheets, exemptions, and filing status data you fill out on a W4 is not reported to the IRS or anything, it’s just so they can look up a withholding amount in a table for you, but if you want something different withheld, just say so.
Remember that if you owe taxes that will mean the full bill will come due come tax season. No refund and sometimes a big outlay!
Hot take: I have never regretted being circumcized and never met anyone who regretted being circumcized so banning it doesn’t make sense for that reason alone. Some parents pierce their children’s ears without their consent, some give them frenectomies, pull teeth, reshape heads, bind feet, or do a variety of other “elective” procedures so I’m not sure why circumcision has so much hate.
Dude you’re arguing opposite your position. The internal consistency of your argument has broken down.
You say above you’re against a rule like “no one else can have orange stuff because I don’t like orange stuff” while at the same time arguing “everyone else has to like pets because I like pets.” Can’t you see how that’s hypocritical?
And to be clear, you completely misrepresent my position in the first place. I’m not for requiring anyone to do anything. I’m against requiring landlords to allow pets. If they want to allow pets, great 👍.
But if a property owner wants to advertise their community as quieter (no barking), cleaner, with less poop and pee on the grass, and less dander in the air, then why would you prohibit renters from seeking a nicer place like that for them to live?
Pets don’t need to be “part of the human experience” any more than drugs do. They’re optional and some people choose to have them and some don’t. Some people don’t like pets and don’t want to be forced to live around others’ pets.
Have you even thought for a second that some people might CHOOSE housing based on the fact that a community doesn’t allow pets? And by “mandating all landlords allow pets” you are eliminating housing options for these people? God you people are like religious zealots and think everyone should be forced to believe in the same things you do.
Friggin crazy fascists. “You’re going to like my pitbull (oh he’s harmless and you’re dog-racist if you believe otherwise) and now I want to force you to raise your kids around my untrained shit factory and step in his crap and listen to him bark constantly or you’re a horrible person.”
Holy hell I hate you with the passion of a thousand suns.
Not all humans want pets. And those humans don’t like to be forced to live among other people’s pets.
Fucking NO god damn it we hate people like you SO MUCH
Or they can just not allow pets wtf?
My wife and I collect souvenir lapel pins from places we travel to. We write the date on the back, and keep them in a shadow box on the wall in chronological order.
It’s nice as it’s not very expensive to buy them, and they don’t take up a lot of space to keep, and we have a nice little history of our travels at a glance.
I’ve seen this meme format quite a few times now and never noticed him holding a phone. Has he always been holding a phone???
Yeah only uptight idiots would have a problem with this. Though in the US she’d probably be fired.
Wind and hydro still have to spin a turbine. Solar is the one true stand out advancement in electricity production since we started using electricity.
But wouldn’t that mean the bottom checkbox should be cleared and the 2nd one should be checked?
Still doesn’t make sense.
