The university that I’m at is trying to get new students to use a digital student id that uses google wallet for scanning I think. They aren’t giving any new students physical student id’s unless they need it for something that doesn’t work with the digital ones.
So yeah some people do need google wallet.
Imo its understandable since he’s going to have to live in russia for the rest of his life if he doesn’t want to live in a US prison for the rest of his life.

Ok I found this post like a week late, but TikTok bought a VR company called Pico several years ago and they were investing money into new software and headsets, but recently cancelled all of their planned games. They are still making a new headset, but they also seemed to cancel their entry into the US market. They also had a ton of layoffs last year.
So basically, I think they’ve lost interest in VR.

If they were able to guess your pin, you should probably switch to a longer pin or a password. It seems insane at first to type a long password, but if you pick two long scientific words, its secure with only letters.

If you don’t have much experience with linux you should not use nixos. I don’t think nixos is any different from debian or fedora in privacy, anonymity, or security. Many people even reduce their privacy by putting their config on github.

I wouldn’t really consider improving their website coding so that people can’t pirate it enshittification.
Enshittification is based around a platform first creating something good for users and then making it good for suppliers and then when they are locked in, reduce quality. You aren’t locked into a news website that you aren’t even paying for, and you aren’t entitled to their products either.
How is it enshittification to stop people from pirating your stuff?
Just accept that its not private, use the website (not the app), and don’t upload anything that you aren’t comfortable with being public.

I feel its the reverse, most people I know on discord mute most of the discord servers they are in. I put most of the discord servers I’m in into folders so that its easier to find the people I actually talk to and ignore all of the ones I joined for asking questions or downloading files.
Idk, there’s a wide range of text related tasks. Some of those tasks, I would say emacs is very good at (like programming or taking notes), and others are good enough (like email and file management). The reason that I would want to use it for the worse tasks is that the text editing tools between the tasks are all the same and its all programmable.
Its all personal preference though.
Most rhythm games are better on keyboard except for project diva which is way better on controller. I think osu! is the least controller friendly rhythm game and osu!mania style rhythm games are probably impossible on controller if it needs more than 6 keys (unless the charts are designed for controller and don’t require hitting every button at once).
Project diva feels really bad to play on keyboard for some reason. I think its because its only recently been playable on pc and I’m used to controller. It just feels better on thumbs.
