I’d be willing to pay extra to buy a retro compatibility feature, but never as a subscription.

At first I thought they were talking about compatibility with every previous PlayStation, including the third one.
Sadly we’re not even sure that’s coming for the PlayStation 6.
Yeah it would need to be straightforward and with as little settings as possible as I don’t think it’s what console gamers are looking for. Just watching at videos about games running on Steam Deck and seeing how many different settings you have to choose to get the game running is depressing for me.
About the prices, I also checked Cyberpunk Phantom Liberty and it was 5 dollars cheaper on PS Store than on Steam. It’s clearly not a small indie game though…
Great news among the bad news (speaking about discless ps5 pro). Every company should do this 👍
If physical disc drives disappear, I might leave consoles and only use a Linux gaming PC as they would lose a big advantage in my eyes.
In a way, I guess we really need Xbox to get back to shape so that Sony doesn’t become the only player in its market and doesn’t try anything stupid.
This or Valve releasing a gaming console/pc for your leaving room for approximately the price of a ps5.
But I just made a comparison online as I was trying to buy Star Wars Jedi Survivor and the game is around 80 dollars on Steam, 40 dollars on the ps store and 49 dollars for the physical version on ps5 on a swiss (my country) online retailer. So when people are saying that games are always cheaper on pc, I don’t think it’s always the case.
The Steam Deck is a really exciting project and I might buy its successor but I guess it depends on how it would perform when docked on a bigger screen as I don’t see myself playing all the time on a small one.
I’ve never been attracted by pc gaming, but the disappearance of disc drives and the high prices of PlayStation hardware these days is making me consider buying a Linux gaming PC after this generation.
I’d never thought this as I always saw so many advantages in console gaming…
But who knows, an optional disc drive on ps6 might still be proposed.
Yeah clerk.
What’s the point on commenting on something when you know you’re gonna be the only one doing it.
So I guess a few more people would be nice on Lemmy.
While I guess what you’re saying is true, I haven’t been confronted with such things during my 1-2 years on Lemmy. It also depends on the communities you subscribe to and political ones are probably more subjected to violence than others.
Another reason for me to just own games and not rent them.
I don’t mind if a movie disappears on Netflix as you just watch it from the beginning to the end, but finishing a game means a lot of time investment and moments without playing.
Loved Little Nightmares 1 and looking forward to number 2.
I don’t know how to call this kind of game but the art direction was really great.
I think an expensive ps5 pro isn’t necessarily a bad news as it’ll mean the base pro is gonna stay the main platform and games are still going to be optimized for it.
It’s wild to see that prices are increasing again.
If it reaches a certain point, it’ll be cheaper to game on pc.
I’ve had my ps5 for almost 2 years, but I’d be perfectly happy to still play on my ps4 with the price increase.
I might be dumb but I don’t think it would be useful to slow down development in order to release your game alongside the game ps5 pro.
It would mean paying developers but not letting them work as efficiently as they can just to postpone the release date.
If it meant no crunch time, I ‘d understand, but otherwise…
I can understand some of the reasoning behind the fact that she’s too strong, but this applies to almost every video game character. Just try hanging on a cliff by your fingertips 😅
Also, being not so enthusiastic about the extend of the LGBTQ movement, I think Naughty Dog made a really good job in this series with really touching stories and characters who aren’t too stereotypical.
I really enjoyed Ellie ´s struggle to find her identity and her love story. It makes you think about how difficult it could be sometimes in real life.
Also in the first game there was a gay character I hadn’t noticed he was gay during the first playthrough.
It just shows you how subtle it was.
It’s a shame that we may only see a new Quantic Dream project see the light of day during the final stage of this console generation.
I’ve loved all of their games since Heavy Rain.
I really loved this game and the length wasn’t a problem as I love these games you can play 2-3. times while improving the difficulty. It’s a shame it never got a sequel.
I wouldn’t mind paying a monthly subscription to the creators I enjoy in Peertube.
I’m already doing it through Patreon, but doing through Peertube would be better as these creators would see that the money is coming from a Peertube user.
I would buy it through a kickstarter campaign as I really enjoyed the game even if it wasn’t perfect at all.
Some of the things he said are what’s keeping me on PlayStation. You just get the game (probably update it) and you can play it without worries.
I love Linux, but I don’t think I’m ready yet to become a PC gamer unless Sony tries some really anti consumer shit like getting rid of discs while still letting you locked in their PlayStation store.
