Oh and we’ve got some drywall work to do because while I got the blood stains off (apparently made a bit of a mess after I got knocked unconscious), I also ripped the toilet paper holder off the wall and put a good hit in on the heater in the fall. Got pictures too if anybody ever thinks the infomercials about seniors falling were being overdramatic, I’m in my 20s.
Literally just got out of the hospital from a fall in the bathroom the other day. Got to ride the wee woo wagon and everything and don’t remember any of it.
Edit: I’ve got two black eyes, what’ll probably be a forehead scar, and a very sore body.
“Did I leave the stove on?”
I’m from Nebraska and volunteered for them a few times and I feel like they’ve probably got a rough position being as Nebraskans seem to hate wildlife in every context but hunting and fishing.
Edit: also the geese seem pretty passive there, never personally had nor witnessed a negative interaction with them.
If I recall correctly that one, in a number of ways, ended up getting even more out of hand and insane than it started. Something about taking the LSD themselves, fucking the dolphins, and drama related to that.
My initial reaction was that it was probably unflattering on purpose but after seeing the others I think that might just be the artist’s style and she just has an unfortunate face for it.
I want to give it a hug and am sure it doesn’t want one.
Magpies are the friendliest birds for people but I almost feel bad about it because they’re dicks to other birds.
I feel the urge the rub it’s belly but am pretty sure I should not.
I feel like second poster has the right idea because beyond his point most of these little ‘rules of thumb’ have a list of exceptions bigger than my apartment.
Also, here’s a slightly more in-depth article from a more niche source: https://liftblog.com/2024/04/13/gondola-tower-collapse-kills-one-in-turkey/
I’ll be fascinated to hear more about this as it gets investigated. I’m a former ski lift operator and there’s so many systems on a modern lift to prevent that. That one looks not quite new but certainly not so old as to not have such precautions. Though it just says hit a pole, it’s possible that said pole wasn’t a lift tower, and of course being that this happened in Turkey it’s possible if not likely that the standards are simply lower than in Colorado.
A gas station in a mining town I visited had little statues carved out of coal.
I wouldn’t doubt it to hear they’re insured for this so it’s not the hardest hit in the world.
IIRC the original image was from a Mormon “science” fair and the sign was something about proving the existence of God.
There’s a joke lying right there for anybody who wants to make it.
God damnit I showed up just to make that comment.
Yeah that was the bulk of the concern everybody had when I woke up in the ER.
